Office parties don’t usually look like this…

Sound Events was once again proud to produce the Michelmores Solicitors annual summer party which, in the same fashion as 2014, took place in the beautiful grounds of a popular local tourist attraction. With an “Around The World” theme to work to, the creative minds at our headquarters spent the earlier months of 2015 designing an exciting, captivating, and impressive outdoor venue – whilst selecting a program of entertainment to match. The result was delivered to a delighted crowd on Fri 18th September, with highlights including performances from RSVP Bhangra, Taylor and the Made Gentlemen, and a local Chinese Lion Dance team. We’ve selected some choice photographs, all of which were taken by Alice Deuchar – www.alicedeuchar.co.uk

Tipis

An impressive multi-use space was designed around a range of temporary structures. Two Giant Hat tipis formed an impressive reception area, and later a quieter space for relaxation with friends. Guests subsequently passed through into a large stretch-tent canopy, which was flanked by various Clearspan marquees, food vendor trucks, and a stage cover.

Pie Vendor

Catering was provided by Devon Deli and local piemaker Tom’s Pies, who offered a selection of global twists on the classic British pub dish, with a decorated food truck parked right inside the stretch tent structure. Guests were also treated to an ottoman empire inspired desert of Baklava.

Outdoor Seating

An outdoor seating and smoking area was installed with shade sails, extensive ambient lighting, and even a big screen on which to watch the opening matches of the Rugby World Cup.

Lion Dance

Once sufficiently fed and watered, party guests were treated to a performance by an Exeter based Lion Dance team. Drawing on traditional Chinese practices, and influenced by the Praying Mantis style of Kung Fu, the dancers wowed the audience by bringing to life the incredibly detailed lion costume.

Bhangra band

Following this, Bristol based Indian dance act RSVP Bhangra took to the stage with a range of modern and traditional instruments, with a view  to energising the crowd with 45 minutes of action packed dance instruction and music performance of Punjabi pop music.
